Dreaming of a turban : what can this symbol mean?

A protection against the desert

Among the Tuareg, the tagelmust is worn permanently and covers mouth and nose as much as head. Its first function is practical : in a wind carrying sand, leaving the face bare is unbearable. The indigo dyeing the cloth rubs off on the skin, which earned these people their name of blue men. It is the men who veil

One Tuareg particularity deserves to be known, for it reverses expectations : among this people it is the men who cover their faces, and the women who leave them uncovered.
