Dreaming of a seal : what can this symbol mean?

An animal between two elements

Creatures that pass from one element to another hold a particular place in the imagination : they make passage conceivable. Norse and Celtic legends drew from them the selkies, seals who shed their skin to take human form, and who must find it again to return. A psychological reading, not a ready-made box

Analytical psychology reads sea animals as figures from the depths : the seal holds an intermediate position, since it surfaces and breathes. It is therefore less interested in the animal than in its movement. Other approaches will simply see a memory, an image seen, or a fondness for the creature. These frameworks can illuminate, but none replaces what the dream says, precisely, to the person who lived it.

No dictionary of symbols, however complete, can say with certainty what your dream of a seal means.
