Dreaming of a parasol : what can this symbol mean?

• A parasol full of holes, letting light through — can signal a defence no longer doing its work.

A psychological reading, not a ready-made box

Analytical psychology takes an interest in sheltering objects as figures of right distance : neither total exposure nor entrenchment. It therefore looks at whether the protection is fitted. Other approaches will simply see a memory of summer, of the beach, of holidays. These frameworks can illuminate, but none replaces what the dream says, precisely, to the person who lived it.
