Clairvoyance, literal and symbolic

Eyes hold a unique position among the senses : they allow not only perceiving the outside world, but also, in everyday expression, "seeing clearly" in a situation — understanding, discerning truth behind appearances. Dreaming of eyes therefore almost always evokes this double capacity for perception, literal and symbolic : your relationship to clarity in a current life situation, your ability to correctly perceive what's happening around you, or conversely a feeling of blindness toward something you can't yet see distinctly.

Dreaming of suddenly losing your sight

This distressing dream almost always evokes a feeling of losing bearings before a situation where you lack clear information to move forward serenely. It can also signal an unconscious refusal to see a disturbing reality ; the psyche, by temporarily "blinding" you in the dream, may illustrate a similar resistance in your waking life toward a truth you'd rather not fully face yet.

The eyes' state and context change the reading

A psychological reading, not a fixed box

Some schools of depth psychology associate eyes with consciousness itself, that ability to observe your own experience with discernment rather than through a veil of illusion or denial. Others see it as connected to the vulnerability of exposure, eyes being the organ through which we're seen as much as we see, creating particularly intimate reciprocity in the exchanged gaze.
